Technology of production

consistency at every step

Selection

Hand-picked juniper from the Armenian Highlands is the heart of every Vogis gin, carefully selected for aroma and quality.

Infusion

Rosehip, basil, chamomile, strawberry, wild cherry, peach, and other ingredients are used to achieve specific flavors and give extraordinary sensations.

Distillation

Each botanical is distilled separately, in a copper alembic and a column still, to capture its purest character.

Blending

After two weeks of resting, our master distiller blends the spirits, so every batch has the same taste and aroma.

Filtration

Gentle chill filtration removes any cloudiness, leaving a crystal-clear gin that stays bright even when chilled or mixed.

Bottling

Finally, Vogis is carefully bottled in our three expressions: Classic Dry, Wild Cherry and Peach.

a family recipe, reborn

Trip to Cuba

A business trip to Cuba passed through London in the eighties. It was there that the scientist Vardan Yavruyan tasted gin for the first time. He immediately felt that there was something specific and genuine about the drink. After returning to Armenia, he was determined to create the drink in his homeland.

1980

Experimenting with Armenian juniper and botanicals

He used juniper berries, coriander seeds, and botanicals which grow exclusively in the Armenian Highlands and have an unusual taste.

1981–1985

The ideal gin recipe

He experimented with various methods and eventually discovered the ideal recipe that captured the essence of Armenia's nature. Despite the meticulous research and a detailed production plan, "Vogis" remained confined to research papers...

1986

The gin recipe was found

Years later, the younger members of the Yavruyan family found the Gin recipe in the scientific papers of their grandpa. After experimenting with the recipe, they reproduced the drink.

Enlivening the recipe

The drink is made by a unique technique. All the ingredients are distilled separately in the copper alembic. Then, all the spirits get coupled and are aged under special conditions. The gin derived has an indescribable taste and delicate aroma.

2020

The first bottle of Vogis

In December 2021, the product was officially launched. The gin was named "Vogis," which translates to "spirit" in Armenian. Today, Vogis is available in three distinctive flavors: classic dry, peach, and wild cherry

Worldwide distribution

You can now discover VOGIS gins in various locations throughout Yerevan, and Vogis has begun its journey abroad in the USA and France. The same year, Vogis Classic Dry received 90 points at the IWSC – our first international recognition.

2022

Vogis Classic Dry was recognised by the world’s gin judges: Gold at the World Gin Awards and the title of Best Classic Gin in Armenia, Gold at the USA Spirits Ratings, and Winner at The Gin Guide Awards.

2023

Building the brand

A year dedicated to developing the Vogis brand, both in Armenia and internationally. We brought the taste of the Armenian Highlands to more people, more venues and more countries, building strong partnerships along the way.

2024

Gold at the Global Gin Masters

Vogis Classic Dry won Gold at The Spirits Business Global Gin Masters, one of the most respected blind-tasting competitions in the gin world, confirming its place among the finest gins internationally.

2025

The spirit of Armenia, worldwide

Vogis Classic Dry received Gold from the Beverage Testing Institute. Today Vogis is enjoyed in Armenia, the USA, France, Italy, Cyprus, Nigeria and Kazakhstan, sharing the taste of Armenian juniper with the world.

The Three Flavors of VOGIS GIN

Wild Cherry Gin

Vogis “Wild Cherry” is the reflection of our souls. It has mild tones and bold tones at times, like life itself. The drink has a tender taste that combines the flavor of Armenian wild cherry.

Classic Dry gin

Dry Classic Gin “Vogis” contains juniper berries, coriander seeds, Earl Grey, lemongrass, rosehip, basil, chamomile and strawberry. This unique combination creates a gorgeous bouquet that is impossible to forget.

Peach gin

Vogis “Peach” has become a significant addition to the Vogis collection. The peach and alpine mint combination makes the drink more alluring and refined. The aroma has an irresistible power.
